News Release
Lechnologies Research announces new rental plan for AfibAlert™
The AfibAlert is a hand-held ECG monitor that provides the patient with a RED light when AF is detected or a GREEN light when not detected. It stores a 45-second, diagnostic quality ECG rhythm strip that can be uploaded to the Internet or transmitted to any transtelephonic receiver.
The AfibAlert™ is now available on a monthly rental basis at the rate of $49.00 with a minimum 3-months, and with 50% of the rental fees applied to the $595 purchase price of the unit. Uploading ECG strips to the Internet is available to users at no charge, which can then be viewed, printed or saved. The physician of your choice is also provided Internet access to your ECG data.
There are many ways in which the AfibAlert™ may be used:
•A long-term, daily-use home monitor (for months or even years) for post-ablation, stent, MI, CABG and maze patients to track the efficacy of the procedure and catch danger signs.
•A daily-use home monitor for verification of drug efficacy.
•A daily-use home monitor for rhythm control patients for verification, within 24 hours, of the onset of AF so treatment can be immediately initiated.
•Daily monitoring by patients who have, or are at risk of developing AF.
•As a traditional post-symptom cardiac event monitor for capturing symptomatic events.
•Screening device for INR clinics to verify the presence or absence of AF during anti-coagulation drug therapy.
•Screening for AF at community health screenings. (Stroke Clinics, BP screenings, etc)
•Clinical studies
Testing with the AfibAlert is quick and easy. The patient simply holds the device in their hands and places their thumbs on the raised electrode. Within 45 seconds, the device illuminates a symbol that indicates the probability of AF presence. The 45-second rhythm strip is stored for uploading for professional interpretation.
•Reimbursement is available under certain circumstances for the first 30-60 days.
•Available by prescription only
•Cannot be sold outside of the United States
•Free uploads to the AfibAlert.com database for physician access
