AfibAlert Features
The AfibAlert™ is designed for self-testing by patients who have been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation (AF or afib), or are susceptible to developing AF. These distinguishing features make the AfibAlert the product of choice for daily-use monitoring in your home.
- Only hand-held, patient activated monitor on the market with a proprietary algorithm that analyzes the ECG signal for the presence of Atrial Fibrillation.
- Only monitor on the market that uses illuminated icon to provide guidance on the probability of AF or to indicate the quality of the test.
- Records a 45 second diagnostic quality single channel ECG for patient review or professional interpretation.
- ECG data can be uploaded, at no charge, to the AfibAlert web site for viewing by the patient and their healthcare provider.
- Proprietary battery compartment allows the batteries to be inserted without regard to direction.
Ease of Use
Simply hold your thumbs on the raised electrodes and turn the device on. The AfibAlert’s proprietary algorithm analyzes the heart rhythm and illuminates a green or red icon, signifying the probability of AF and what action you should take. A 45-second diagnostic quality ECG rhythm strip is recorded and stored in memory.
Connect With Your Physician Anywhere, Any Time
Recorded data can be sent to your physician via computer or telephone. Data can be uploaded via USB cable to the AfibAlert web site at no charge. Data sent via telephone requires specialized receiving software and possibly the use of a specialized service. Up to 30 recordings can be uploaded via computer. For telephone transmission, you have the option of sending the most recent, or the last five, recordings to your physician or specialized receiving service.
Secure Online Database
The AfibAlert website provides a secure area for storing the electrocardiograph (ECG) data of patients. Patients can upload and view their current and past recordings at any time. Additionally, their authorized physician or service provider can access the data any time, from anywhere in the world. (Learn more about the Patient Online Database Tour or the Physician Online Database)
Cascading Memory System
AfibAlert has six memory slots, one for storing a baseline ECG, plus a Cascading Memory™ system that cycles up to thirty recordings through its memory system. As each new recording is performed, the data is analyzed for the presence of atrial fibrillation, and stored in one of the thirty memory slots. When subsequent recordings are taken, the oldest data is discarded and the thirty most recent are saved. (if transmitted by telephone, five recordings are available for transmission).
No More Searching for the (+) or (-) Symbol on the Battery
The patented battery circuitry allows easy insertion of two “AAA” batteries without regard to positive or negative placement.
Total Flexibility in Testing
Test for afib two simple ways:
Press thumbs to the recorder’s electrodes, or
Use the cable and wrist electrodes.
